It’s that time of year… Spring Cleaning Time! A perfect time to declutter your home and organize your belongings.
But, don’t let this task be daunting – here are our tips to start the process. Have fun!
Set a plan: Decide on which areas of your home you want to focus on and break the task into smaller, more manageable steps. Making a list can help you stay motivated.
Declutter first: Before you start cleaning, it’s a good idea to declutter and get rid of any items that you no longer need or use. Make piles of items to toss (anything beyond repair) and to donate!
Start with the most visible areas: Start cleaning the areas of your home that are most visible, think: living room, kitchen, and entryway. Seeing an organized space (no matter the size) can give you the extra motivation to keep going!
Work from top to bottom: When cleaning a room, start from the top and work your way down- ie: dusting the ceiling, then cleaning the walls, and finally cleaning the floors. This will help prevent dust and dirt from falling onto surfaces that have already been cleaned.
It’s all about the details: While it’s important to clean the larger surfaces and areas of your home, don’t forget to clean the smaller details as well. This includes things like light fixtures, baseboards, and window sills.
Use natural cleaning products: Consider using natural cleaning products instead of harsh chemicals, which can be harmful to your health and the environment. You can use ingredients like vinegar, baking soda, and lemon juice to make your own cleaning solutions.
Get the whole family involved: Spring cleaning and decluttering can be a big task, so consider getting the whole family involved. Assign tasks to each family member and make it a fun, collaborative effort. Using a wall calendar can be super helpful so everyone can see the upcoming projects and what their tasks are.
I hope you find these hints helpful!
